Chronology

In early childhood

Jussi's first technological self-made product was a wooden "gun" (using rubber band as a source of force). Another products were a water mill, a steerable "kelkka" (for winter plays), and a hill car. These innovations took place at Jussi's home farm, Itikka, which has later been run by Jussi's brother Jaakko and nowadays Jaakko's son Antti. In student age

A front loading elevator was developed during student years.

1959-1963

Jussi worked in "Koneviesti" (Konevisti today: www.koneviesti.fi )a magazine concentrating on farming and foresting technology. Jussi was a first editor employed in "Koneviesti", which now is "the best magazine on it's own sector".

1963

Jussi Sarvela and his brother founded the Normet Corporation - www.normet.fi. The company's Marketing Dept is located in the city of Espoo - www.espoo.fi - and the Production Dept is in Iisalmi - www.iisalmi.fi - in Finland.

1966

"Award of Merit" from the New York Intl. Innovation & Patent Fair for Jussi and his team.

1969

Jussi, his brother and the company were awarded the National Finnish Private Entrepreneurs Prize. (Annually between 5 -7 such prizes are awarded).

1970-1972

The Sarvela brothers sold the Normet Company, which already had over 200 employees. This company's products comprise forestry and mining machinery. The success of the company is based on innovative products and technology. About 20 patents have now been awarded Jussi Sarvela and his R&D teams, e.g. Oy Forma Cont Ltd.

1972-1974

Jussi Sarvela continued as the president of Orion Corporation NORMET. His personal main responsibility and interest in the company was in product development and international marketing.

1975-1991

During this period Jussi Sarvela founded via his family holding company, Oy Interteam Ab, some new companies in Finland, a chemical company in Minnesota 1979 - sold 1981 - in co-operation with other entrepreneurs. One of these companies is OY Sarvela Brothers AB, specialised in compressors, pneumatic tools, and marketing its products via 180 dealers and main distributor - mainly in Finland.

1991-1995

During these years Jussi Sarvela continued developing his old, innovative plans by researching and designing new products for production and marketing later in Finland and internationally.

1996

After returning to Finland Jussi and the son, Mikael started to manufacture a new, innovative, internationally patented, SYSTEM LOGMATIC - www.logmatic.com. It replaces the centuries old method of splitting firewood with a new, safe technology. (More than 50% of the global annual wood harvest is still used as firewood and more than 50% is still split using dangerous conventional manual tools.)


2000

Logmatic did get European Recognition an Oscar Security 2000 Prize in exhibition in Forexpo in France - for more information: english pages of System Logmatic.

2002-2003

Jussi and Mikael Sarvela did intensively continue to develop both Logmatic and several other projects together with Professional High School of Kuopio - www.designkuopio.fi. For example they have planned: Minicruiser

2004

Oy Sarvela Brothers AB was sold.
